What was the highlight of Campanile Aix-Les-Bains
I have always liked Campanile but this stay could have been better
The ground floor room with parking outside the door. The lovely gardens and terrace next to the golf course.
Although it allows pets, I had trouble getting food as I was travelling solo with my dog. Leaving him alone while I went to the restaurant wasn’t an option. I asked if I could eat outside on the terrace and I was told ‘no it was company policy’. The next morning however when asked if I’d had a pleasant stay, I had to mention again that it had been very difficult not being able to get any food because of the dog. The receptionist was very kind and got me some complimentary croissants that I could eat on the terrace. Perhaps if I had learned some French and been able to communicate better I might have been allowed to eat something on the terrace the night before, or had the option to take some food to my room. I do think it’s an issue that needs to be addressed. For a single solo female with a dog on a long journey from the UK to Italy, one of the reasons I chose Campanile was in part because of the convenience of the restaurant. I appreciate they have a no dog rule in the restaurant but it wasn’t stated online, and I wasn’t offered an alternative. Ibis hotels have allowed me to take my dog to the restaurant.

the mattress, the staff
too many bugs and they do little to nothing about it, I ask once if they could put a spray or something for the bugs problem and nothing changed after they guaranteed they were gonna do something about it. The room has very low light even after turning on every light in the room. I can hear everything my neighbor does and say

Thoroughly enjoyed and will stay again!
The room was a good size and the kind bed was very comfortable. The location is beautiful and easy to access. The staff were very friendly and spoke both French and English to us. They were helpful and accommodating. We were able to login to netflix which was helpful for our 3 year old. There is a restaurant that serves nice food and parking was sufficient. The breakfast was also lovely.
It would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room for drinks etc.
